New Year's night walk on Serebryanyy Bor island... whoo hoo!
36 candles on my birthday cake!!
me and Sergio about to try and blow out all the candles... getting so old!
Another wintry walk on Serebryanyy Bor island-park, and today it's snowman city!!
Many New Year's snowmen, made from confetti left over from the celebrations a few days ago.
New Year's snowman welcomes in 2015.
Icy bridges traverse many frozen water inlets through the nearly bare tree branches.
Christmas ornaments hanging from some of the bare tree branches.
A 2015 New Year's snowman family!
Me and Sean wandering around the island...
frozen Moscow river
boat docks in summer, eerie skeletons in winter
scenes from Serebryanyy Bor
Taking in an early winter sunset beside the Moscow River.
The ol' Stalin building rising from near Barrikadnaya Metro station.
Wondrous clouds in the sky today!
Our planned visit to the Planetarium is foiled when we see the realllllly long line. Holidays are the absolute worst to try and see museums around Moscow.
At the Moscow Planetarium... have to go here some other time.
... instead, we end up at the Burger King!
Little girls enjoying their Burger King crowns, and so are we!
totally looks like the Chicago Bears' logo and colours....
SOS we need help!
Christmas trees up along the streets...
Moscow city views near the Peking Hotel....
Come see one of the many shows or concerts at Gosudarstvennyy Akademicheskiy Theatre!
Sunset over the famed Peking Hotel...
trying to look bourgeois in this upscale cafe
cool lights at Tulskaya Metro station
Good ol' Sean is out of here, another one bites the dust!
good times at Sean's going-away party
playing the 'guess who the hell I am' game....
good times and empty vodka bottles!
A bunch of foreigners from 4 continents enjoying Moscow!

Leningradskiy station at about 1am, headed out to St. Petersburg for a few days!
Ol' Sergio is lovin' his first CSKA basketball game!!!
Players line up for pre-game introductions...
Today's opponent (in white) is Laboral Kutxa, from Spain, one of the best teams in Europe...
Laboral Kutxa (traditionally known as Saski Baskonia) players in the huddle... the team is from Vitoria-Gasteiz, the capitol city of the Basque country... welcome to the second half of the Euro League season!
Awesome shot goes in! This Spanish team actually put up a fight (literally and figuratively), and the game was not the usual 30-point blowout.
... during a break in play....
#3 with a circus shot! Laboral Kutxa puts up a fight but loses, 90-99 final score, and CSKA improves to 34-2 on the season (12-0 in Euro League play now)... yeah!
Ol' Sergio had a great time, the CSKA horse even stopped by to say what's up to him!!!
My best Christmas present this year.... a new bike!!! Can't wait till the weather is decent so I can use it!
Pre-game huddles at the CSKA hockey game....
Tonight's opponent is Jokerit, a team from Helsinki, Finland, the first Nordic team to join the KHL (which they did this year), though they are legendary back in Finland.... So far this year, Jokerit has impressed, they are currently 3rd in the KHL behind CSKA and SKA St. Petersburg (sadly, my Dynamo is 4th)....
high-scoring hockey game... fans here go crazy after an early CSKA goal, which tied the game after an even earlier Jokerit goal...
CSKA goalie stands in front of the cheerleaders, who are worse than the CSKA basketball cheerleaders. All these ladies do is wave around their pom-poms (of course, harder to do dances when you are confined to that little 'stage' the whole game and can't go out on the ice!)...
I happily unveil my Dynamo scarf, amid scowls from CSKA fans around me, during first intermission....
